Summer 2009: A Beach Resort Recommendation

Travels  Tagged , , No Comments »

Summer’s here…a perfect excuse for hitting the beach, to enjoy the waters and have fun under the sun. Guess what, I have a beach resort recommendation for those who’d like to elevate their Zambales experience to a higher level. It’s Alta Niña Beach Resort in Candelaria, Zambales. Let it serve as your gateway to Potipot Island, a Bora-like paradise of white-sand beaches and clear waters.

Have an awesome summer, people! :)

3 New Blogs for a More Productive Blogging Experience

Announcements  Tagged , , No Comments »
I’ve recently put up three new blogs for my various interests and I’m officially launching it here. Actually, the goal is to make my blogging experience more productive. I want to do better in making money online this year so what I did was I dedicated each blog to a particular niche. Without further a do, lemme present my three new blogs in no particular order:

wazzup, events, people, science, technology

World Buzz Today (My SEO Blog). It’s all about current events and stuff that people search online. I’m still not good at SEO but I’m determined to make this blog work. To be honest, this is part of my quest towards my first Adsense paycheck, mind you! (After all, the breadwinner needs a steady cash flow.) Please support me here. I’d appreciate exchanging links with you, guys. For those interested, just leave a message in the comment section.

food, food trips, food adventures, Pinoy food
Foodiestation (My Food Blog). This blog is about a subject dear to almost every heart — food. Here, I’ll share about my food trips whenever I get to travel out-of-town, or just whenever I feel like taking one. It’ll also document my little experiments in the kitchen as I work to improve my culinary skills. I love cooking and eating (I think I’m a foodie already!) so expect full blast accounts of my food adventures.

budget shopping galore, cheap fashion

Budget Shopping Galore (My Fashion Blog). Because I believe that looking great doesn’t equate to paying more. Here, I’ll share about my cheap fashion finds and my love for ukay-ukay. Once I achieve my desired weight, I plan to dress up from time to time and publish pictures of myself for you to drool over (lol). Kidding aside, expect post about everything and anything I find worthy of sharing with kikay girls (and boys, too) out there.

Please note that I made the headers myself to add a more personal touch to my new blogs. I never thought making (simple) headers is that easy. I made mine using Photoshop. Size is 880×160 pixels.

I hope you guys will take some minutes out of your busy schedules to check out my new blogs. I guarantee that it’ll be worthwhile, or at least something that won’t make you mad at me. Haha. :)

My Recent Cebu Trip

Travels  Tagged , , No Comments »

I’ve just gotten back from Cebu City last Monday. It was my fourth time there but the experience keeps getting better and better each time. I was fortunate to be with the company of friendly friends who showed me around the city and allowed me explore Cebu’s day and night life up close and personal. I don’t know with you, but I love Cebu and every good thing it offers to travelers.

You can read about my recent Cebu trip HERE.

For complete photos, you can check out my Multiply site.

On the sidelines:

The Life of a Breadwinner has several new and exciting posts.

A New Site

Uncategorized No Comments »

I can say that I’m not lazy but I’m not "always" productive, either. But here I am again, making a post about a new site. Or maybe it’s better if I put it this way, an old site that was given a long overdue makeover. I’m talking about my Multiply site.

The recent events that I attended and preoccupied myself with have flooded me with photos which I thought shouldn’t be shared through my Friendster account alone. And so, I decided to re-create my Multiply site. First, I thought of a name for the site. It didn’t take long before I come up with "The Breadwinner’s Nook." Almost everyone in my circle of friends and associates know that I’m a breadwinner. I guess it suits me perfectly well and the site, too. And so, the site is now known as such.

Now, I’m writing about my site to share it with you. It’s not something that promises to make you happy or solve your problems, but I guarantee that any updates on me that you wanna know can be found there. Or at least the events I have participated in. Anyhow, just in case you guys miss me, The Breadwinner’s Nook (or my personal blog for that matter) is there to fill the gap. At least for the time being.

Ciao!

Shameless Plugging

But then, this morning I woke up and thought of creating a new post. So, here it is. Well, honestly I only want to do some shameless plugging. Yes, you heard me right. I’d like YOU to visit my personal blog. It’s www.edelweiza.com.

See you guys there.

On Reading and Other Stuffs

Uncategorized 5 Comments »

I love reading. It’s my way of expressing interest in something that catches my attention and inquisitive nature.Reading, for me, can transcend barriers, allowing my simple and unassuming self to get to places i have never been to, know things that i hadn’t been familiar with, and introduce me to events that I had never known transpired.

Most people don’t see reading as a nice hobby nor find time to read during their free time. I can’t blame them for doing so since each of us has our own perception of things around us. Apparently, people gravitate towards an entity not necessarily because of its value but most of the time, its attractiveness and the convenience of dealing with it. That’s one reason why baloons sell like hotcakes to children each bright, sunny morning at the park.

In today’s fast-changing world where information technology dominates the socio-economic landscape and the ordinary people’s way of life, reading has just been serving as an escape to tired minds, geek students who want to get a perfect score for their class projects and toddlers who are just beginning to grasp the very idea of letters, words and phrases.

There are some though, that can still be seen perusing through bookstores and school libraries, looking for books that can be bought or borrowed, or just whatever that catches their wild imaginations. While books are for people of all ages, there seems to be a wall providing the gap between books and people. It seems that most of us are too preoccupied with moving our lives to the right directions to look at the benefits of reading.

I am not saying that I am a bookworm nor a sucker for everything readable. I’m just fond of reading. For me, it serves as an outlet to let go of my ignorance and a silent, deep well to answer my constant thirst for knowledge.

What is fascinating about reading is that it revives memory of our past experiences, whether its agonizing or jubilant. It brings us to another world where we can be just ourselves, unaware of what’s going on around us. Whether it’s just a short story, a fiction-based novel or a history book, reading is a wonderful experience worth loving.
